We’ve Got Beef is a short film that follows two coworkers as they embark on an epic quest that teaches them about life, love, and the importance of protein. I began writing the script for it in late 2025, and it went through many revisions and rounds of feedback before it reached its final form. As assistant director, I helped make storyboards and shotlists, filmed b-roll, and filled in for our director on a few shoots when he was unavailable. My responsibilities as production designer included finding filming locations and managing all costuming needs. On set, I was also in charge of audio and ensuring that the sound quality was up to professional standards for all of our shoots to minimize the audio repair work that would be necessary in post.
The last work I did on this film was the color correction and color grading. Working with color in DaVinci Resolve is one of my specialties, and I was able to vastly improve my skills and efficiency in the color process over the course of working on this film. Due to weather, many scenes had to be shot at different times of day or in cloudier conditions than the script called for. I was able to remedy this in post by editing the color in these scenes to match the appropriate conditions.
